Faculty of Medicine, Toho University, Tokyo, Japan

Clinical immunology is absolutely one of the most exciting fields of medical science, which covers immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiencies, and various immune diseases associated with infections and malignancies. Most of the above diseases are still difficult-to-manage, and accordingly, patients and relevant medical professionals are seeking the better understanding of pathogenesis of the diseases and the better diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to them. Here we provide a suitable platform where enthusiastic clinical immunologists with the background expertise of rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, osteoimmunology, reproduction, etc. assemble and discuss the cutting-edge topics and unmet needs in clinical immunology.

The Japanese Society of Clinical Immunology (JSCI) was established in 1973, and it has just become a new member of The Japanese Association of Medical Sciences in 2024. In addition to our responsible domestic efforts, our global efforts include the alliance with The Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS) and the convenings of the annual international symposium of clinical immunology. On May 15-16, 2025, the 4th international symposium of clinical immunology is going to be held at Nippondaira Hotel located in Shizuoka City where we can enjoy panoramic views of ever-changing sky and Mt. Fuji.

I hope a lot of participants from Japan and abroad with various background expertise will enjoy a hot discussion about clinical immunology and unforgettable stays at Nippondaira Hotel.
