Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of the organizing committee, I am pleased to announce the 46th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Immunology (JSI). This event will be held at Sendai International Center in Sendai City from December 12th (Tue) - 14th (Thu), 2017. Sendai is the largest city in Tohoku region located in the northern part of the main island, and it takes only one and half hour by Super-express train to get Sendai from Tokyo. Sendai International Center is in an excellent location with easy access, and ten min ride on subway from Sendai Station brings you there. Seventeen years have passed since the JSI annual meeting was successfully held in Sendai last time, and the organizing committee heartily welcomes all the JSI members and non-members to get together again in Sendai in this special occasion.

Since the 42nd JSI annual meeting, we have used English as the official language in the whole meeting to create an international environment and accelerate scientific and social interaction with immunologists from all over the world. During the 46th JSI meeting, in the morning we plan total 12 symposia on cutting-edge topics in current immunology and have invited leading researchers including 24 from abroad. Before each symposium, the chair will give an overview talk to facilitate understanding of audience, particularly those unfamiliar with the field. At lunch time, we have series of technical and clinical seminars to introduce the latest technologies and translational research, respectively in the immunology and its related fields. In the afternoon, we have a variety of workshop and poster sessions covering the entire scope of immunology, where participants, particularly young researchers and students, will have the opportunity to present their new and exciting data and hold lively discussions with researchers from all over the world.

Sendai is known as one of Japan's greenest cities and blessed with rich food from the sea, mountains and land. We hope you will enjoy both high-quality science and delicious food during the 46th JSI meeting. All of you, not only JSI members but also non-members including those from overseas, are welcome to submit abstracts. We sincerely look forward to your participation in the exciting JSI Annual Meeting held in Sendai this coming December.
